Restylane and Perlane are non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA) dermal fillers developed by Q-Med (now Galderma). Restylane is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to act like the body's own naturally produced hyaluronic acid, helping to visibly correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Perlane, which was later rebranded as Restylane Lyft, contains larger gel particles than Restylane and is intended for deeper injection to provide structural support and volume. The combination of these two fillers is often used in aesthetic procedures, such as the rejuvenation of the infraorbital hollows (tear troughs), where Perlane is used for deep structural volumization and Restylane is used for more superficial refinement and smoothing.
