Drug intelligence / Profile preview
REVAC-B+ (Revac-B Plus) is a recombinant hepatitis B vaccine developed and manufactured by Bharat Biotech. It consists of highly purified hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) produced by recombinant DNA technology in yeast (*Saccharomyces cerevisiae*). The vaccine is adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide, which serves as an adjuvant to enhance the immune response. REVAC-B+ is indicated for active immunization against infection caused by all known subtypes of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) in individuals of all ages, including neonates, infants, children, and adults. It works by inducing the production of specific protective antibodies (anti-HBs) against the viral surface protein, providing long-term immunity against HBV and its associated complications, such as cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.
