Overview

Revefenacin + formoterol is a combination of two inhaled bronchodilators used for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Revefenacin is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) that competitively inhibits muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, particularly with kinetic selectivity for the M3 subtype, leading to sustained bronchodilation by preventing acetylcholine-induced bronchoconstriction[3][6]. Formoterol is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic receptor agonist (LABA) that stimulates beta2 receptors in bronchial smooth muscle, increasing intracellular cAMP and resulting in muscle relaxation and airway dilation[5]. The combination has been shown to improve lung function more than either agent alone and is generally well tolerated when administered via nebulization[2][8].
