Advagene's Rhinovirus-induced asthma immunotherapy is an experimental protein-based therapeutic vaccine designed to prevent or mitigate asthma exacerbations triggered by rhinovirus infections. The therapy utilizes Advagene's proprietary LTh(αK) platform, which consists of a detoxified heat-labile enterotoxin (LT) from *Escherichia coli* that serves as a potent mucosal adjuvant and immunomodulator. By delivering rhinovirus-related antigens intranasally alongside the LTh(αK) protein, the treatment aims to modulate the mucosal immune environment in the respiratory tract, potentially shifting the immune response away from the inflammatory pathways that lead to severe asthma attacks during viral infections. As of early 2024, the candidate is in the exploration or preclinical stage of development.
