Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Rhubarb + sodium bicarbonate is a combination oral tablet manufactured by Sichuan Sunnyhope (Sichuan Shenghe Pharmaceutical). It is a traditional pharmaceutical preparation used primarily for digestive disorders. The rhubarb component contains anthraquinone derivatives like emodin and rhein, which function as a bitter stomachic to stimulate gastric secretion and as a stimulant laxative to promote bowel movements. Sodium bicarbonate acts as an antacid, neutralizing excess gastric acid to alleviate symptoms of hyperacidity. The combination is indicated for the treatment of indigestion, loss of appetite, and constipation associated with gastric acid imbalance.
