Drug intelligence / Profile preview
rilvegostomig + recombinant human hyaluronidase is a subcutaneous combination therapy being developed by AstraZeneca for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. The formulation consists of rilvegostomig (AZD2936), a bispecific monoclonal antibody that targets both programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) and T-cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains (TIGIT), and recombinant human hyaluronidase (rHu). Rilvegostomig is designed to enhance antitumor immune activity by simultaneously blocking two key inhibitory checkpoints on T cells. The recombinant human hyaluronidase component acts as a permeation enhancer by temporarily degrading hyaluronan in the subcutaneous extracellular matrix, which facilitates the delivery and absorption of large volumes of the bispecific antibody. This combination is currently being evaluated in the Phase I ARTEMIDE-subQ trial to compare its pharmacokinetics and safety with intravenous administration of rilvegostomig.
