Overview

A combination therapy consisting of RO4929097, a gamma-secretase inhibitor targeting the Notch signaling pathway, and bevacizumab, a monoclonal antibody that inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). This combination was investigated primarily for the treatment of recurrent malignant glioma. The scientific rationale for combining these agents stems from the understanding that Notch signaling promotes tumor invasion and tumor-related angiogenesis, while bevacizumab blocks tumor growth by inhibiting angiogenesis.
