Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Romyelocel-L + filgrastim is a combination therapy comprising **Romyelocel-L**, an allogeneic myeloid progenitor cell product, and **filgrastim**, a recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) analog. This combination is designed to reduce morbidity and mortality from infections during neutropenia following myeloablative chemotherapy, specifically in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML)[7]. Romyelocel-L provides a source of functional myeloid cells, while filgrastim stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of neutrophil precursors in the bone marrow through activation of the G-CSF receptor[1][4][6][7]. The strategy is intended to accelerate hematopoietic recovery and reduce infectious complications associated with post-chemotherapy neutropenia.
