Overview

omiciclib + carboplatin + etoposide** is a combination regimen of three agents used in investigational and clinical oncology settings. Roniciclib is an oral, potent, pan-cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitor that blocks cell cycle progression and induces apoptosis in proliferating tumor cells. Carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy agent that causes DNA crosslinking, resulting in the inhibition of DNA synthesis and repair and subsequent cell death. Etoposide is a topoisomerase II inhibitor, blocking DNA unwinding and replication, leading to apoptosis of rapidly dividing cancer cells. The combination targets cell proliferation through both cell cycle inhibition and DNA damage pathways, used primarily in the context of solid tumors and neuroendocrine cancers.
