Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ronkyla Plus is a hydrogel-forming sodium deoxycholate injection developed by Glonova Pharma Co., Ltd for the treatment of superficial lipoma and submental fullness. The active ingredient, sodium deoxycholate (also known as deoxycholic acid), is a bile salt that acts as a detergent to induce adipocyte lysis by disrupting fat cell membranes. This localized destruction of fat cells leads to a reduction in fat volume. Ronkyla Plus is uniquely formulated to form a hydrogel at the injection site upon administration, which is intended to provide a better patient experience and potentially improved efficacy compared to traditional lipolysis injections like Kybella. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development to evaluate its safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics for its target indications.
