Overview
This is a **combination therapy** consisting of ropeginterferon alfa-2b, a long-acting, mono-pegylated type I interferon, and aspirin, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with antiplatelet properties. **Ropeginterferon alfa-2b** is approved for the treatment of polycythemia vera, acting by binding to the interferon alpha/beta receptor and activating the JAK/STAT signaling cascade to control abnormal blood cell production. **Aspirin** irreversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), reducing thromboxane A2 production and thereby inhibiting platelet aggregation. This combination is studied or used in polycythemia vera and other myeloproliferative neoplasms to reduce the risk of thrombosis while controlling hematological parameters.
