Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination dietary supplement or formulation containing three main components: - Rosemary extract, a plant-derived antioxidant with anti-inflammatory, chemopreventive, antiproliferative, antimicrobial, and neuroprotective effects. Its primary mechanisms include inhibition of nuclear factor kappa B transcription and suppression of the arachidonic acid cascade. Rosemary extract also demonstrates potent antioxidant activity by scavenging free radicals and inhibiting the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), thereby enhancing oxidative stability in lipid-rich formulations[2][5]. - Vitamin E (commonly as alpha-tocopherol), a fat-soluble antioxidant that protects cell membranes from oxidative damage by neutralizing free radicals. It is often used to stabilize oils rich in PUFAs. - Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), essential fatty acids such as omega-3 and omega-6 that are important for cardiovascular health but are prone to oxidation. The combination is primarily used to enhance the oxidative stability of PUFA-rich oils or supplements, prevent degradation during storage, and potentially provide synergistic health benefits related to antioxidation and metabolic support[5]. This type of formulation may be found in dietary supplements or functional foods aimed at supporting cardiovascular health, reducing inflammation, or improving metabolic parameters.
