Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy contains rosuvastatin, amlodipine, and ramipril, and was developed by Adamed Pharma. It is indicated for the treatment of hypertension and/or stable coronary artery disease in patients who are already controlled with the individual components given concurrently at the same dose level, particularly those with co-existing hypercholesterolemia. Rosuvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor that lowers lipid levels by reducing hepatic cholesterol synthesis. Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that induces peripheral vasodilation, thereby reducing blood pressure. Ramipril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that blocks the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, leading to reduced vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, which provides both antihypertensive and cardioprotective effects. The combination is designed to simplify treatment regimens and improve patient adherence in the management of multiple cardiovascular risk factors.
