Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination immunization regimen consisting of Rotasiil (BRV-PV), a live attenuated bovine-human reassortant pentavalent rotavirus vaccine, co-administered with a pentavalent DTwP-HepB-Hib vaccine and oral polio vaccine (OPV). Developed by the Serum Institute of India, Rotasiil is the world's first thermostable rotavirus vaccine, targeting serotypes G1, G2, G3, G4, and G9. This specific regimen was evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials in India to assess lot-to-lot consistency and ensure that co-administration does not interfere with the immunogenicity of routine Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP) vaccines in infants.
