RPX2014 + RPX7009

RPX2014 + RPX7009 is an investigational fixed-dose intravenous combination of a carbapenem antibiotic (RPX2014) and a novel β-lactamase inhibitor (RPX7009), developed to address multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacterial infections. RPX7009 inhibits serine β-lactamases, including KPC (Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase), thereby restoring or enhancing the activity of the carbapenem RPX2014 against otherwise resistant organisms, especially Enterobacteriaceae. The drug targets multidrug-resistant pathogens, particularly hospital-acquired infections, and is in Phase 1 clinical investigation for its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics when administered intravenously, alone or in combination[1].
