Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**s,s-reboxetine + pregabalin** is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents: - **(S,S)-reboxetine** is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI) used primarily for the treatment of major depressive disorder and other conditions such as panic disorder and narcolepsy. It works by selectively inhibiting the sodium-dependent noradrenaline transporter in the central nervous system to increase synaptic concentrations of norepinephrine[4][5]. - **Pregabalin** is an anticonvulsant and analgesic agent indicated for neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain from spinal cord injury, and as adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures. Pregabalin binds to the alpha2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the CNS to modulate neurotransmitter release including glutamate and substance P[2][3][6]. This combination may be considered when both antidepressant effects (from reboxetine) and management of neuropathic pain or seizure disorders (from pregabalin) are desired.
