S-707106 + metformin is a combination of two small molecule drugs under investigation for the treatment of metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and conditions associated with impaired glucose tolerance. S-707106 is an oral small molecule developed by Shionogi that acts as an inhibitor of 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11β-HSD1), leading to improved insulin sensitivity and potential anti-obesity effects. It has also been described as an insulin receptor (INSR) sensitizer.
