Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Sabin Inactivated Poliovirus Vaccine (Vero Cell)** is a trivalent inactivated vaccine containing antigens from Sabin strains of poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3, produced in Vero cells. It induces neutralizing antibodies against poliovirus to prevent poliomyelitis, offering a safer alternative to oral polio vaccine by eliminating reversion risk while maintaining immunogenicity comparable to traditional Salk IPV. Developed primarily by Sinovac Biotech, it features doses like 15/45/45 DU per 0.5 mL, with formulations tested for thermostability via lyophilization, and was approved in China in 2021 and WHO-prequalified in 2022 for global polio eradication efforts.[2][4][5]
