Overview

Florax is a probiotic biological medication developed and marketed by the Brazilian pharmaceutical company Hebron. It contains live cultures of the yeast *Saccharomyces cerevisiae* (specifically strain 17). It is primarily indicated for the treatment of intestinal flora imbalances (dysbiosis) and associated symptoms such as diarrhea, including those caused by antibiotic use or gastrointestinal infections. As a probiotic, it works by restoring the natural microbial balance in the gut, competing with pathogenic microorganisms for nutrients and adhesion sites, and modulating the local immune response. It is typically administered as an oral suspension in single-dose containers (flaconetes).
