Overview
Salbutamol + beclometasone dipropionate is a fixed-dose combination inhalation therapy containing salbutamol (a short-acting beta2-adrenergic receptor agonist, or SABA) and beclometasone dipropionate (an inhaled corticosteroid, or ICS). Salbutamol acts as a rapid-acting bronchodilator by relaxing airway smooth muscle, while beclometasone dipropionate provides potent anti-inflammatory effects in the lungs. This combination is indicated for the long-term management and prevention of symptoms associated with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in patients who require both bronchodilator and corticosteroid therapy. It is typically administered via a pressurized metered-dose inhaler (pMDI).
