Salicylic acid is a salicylate nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides analgesia by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes. The ESP block is a regional anesthetic technique where local anesthetics (such as bupivacaine or mepivacaine) are injected into the fascial plane deep to the erector spinae muscle to provide multi-dermatomal sensory blockade, aiming to improve postoperative pain management and reduce opioid consumption.
