Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Saline Solution (NaCl 0.9%) is a standard isotonic saline solution containing 0.9% sodium chloride. Administered intranasally, it acts mechanically to moisten the nasal mucosa, dilute thick mucus, and support mucociliary clearance, thereby helping to relieve nasal obstruction. Because it is a physiological solution, it does not target specific molecular receptors. In clinical development, it is frequently employed as a standard-of-care active comparator in trials evaluating investigational nasal therapies for conditions such as rhinitis and sinusitis.
