Overview
GW006 is a generic inhalation powder formulation of the combination drug salmeterol xinafoate and fluticasone propionate, developed by CF PharmTech (Changfeng Pharmaceutical). It is designed as a generic version of the reference product Seretide (Advair) Accuhaler. The drug combines salmeterol, a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) that promotes bronchodilation by activating beta2-receptors in the airway smooth muscle, and fluticasone propionate, a corticosteroid that suppresses inflammatory responses in the lungs. GW006 is indicated for the maintenance treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The product was developed using CF PharmTech's proprietary dry powder inhaler (DPI) technology and has received regulatory approval in China.
