sargramostim + peginterferon alfa-2b

A fixed-regimen, two-drug immunotherapy combination of sargramostim (recombinant human granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor) and peginterferon alfa-2b (pegylated interferon-α2b). Sargramostim acts as a myeloid growth factor and immune adjuvant that stimulates proliferation, differentiation, and activation of granulocytes and macrophages to enhance antigen presentation and innate immunity. Peginterferon alfa-2b provides sustained interferon-α signaling via pegylation, exerting antiviral, antiproliferative, and immunomodulatory effects through JAK-STAT activation and induction of interferon-stimulated genes. This combination has been explored in oncology to augment anti-tumor immune responses, including in a clinical trial setting with other agents such as thalidomide; peginterferon alfa-2b is approved for chronic hepatitis C (with other antivirals) and as adjuvant therapy for melanoma, while sargramostim is approved for hematopoietic recovery and other uses like H-ARS. The combination itself is not an approved, branded product.
