sarilumab + simvastatin

This is a combination of two drugs, sarilumab and simvastatin. Sarilumab is a human monoclonal antibody that acts as an interleukin-6 receptor alpha (IL-6Rα) antagonist, primarily used to treat moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. Simvastatin is a small molecule statin that inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, and is used for lowering cholesterol and preventing cardiovascular disease. When administered together, sarilumab can reduce the plasma exposure of simvastatin by reversing IL-6-mediated suppression of CYP3A4 activity in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis[1][2][6]. This interaction may require monitoring or adjustment of simvastatin dosing when co-administered with sarilumab.
