Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SARS-CoV-2 inactivated vaccine (Vero cell) + quadrivalent influenza vaccine refers to a vaccination strategy involving the concomitant administration of an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (specifically Sinovac's CoronaVac) and a quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (IIV4). This regimen is not a single fixed-dose formulation but rather the simultaneous administration of two separate vaccines at different injection sites. Developed and studied by Sinovac Biotech, the combination aims to simplify immunization schedules and provide dual protection against COVID-19 and seasonal influenza. Clinical trials, including Phase 4 studies (NCT04801888), have demonstrated that the co-administration is safe and maintains the immunogenicity of both the SARS-CoV-2 component (targeting the spike and other viral proteins) and the four influenza strains (targeting hemagglutinin antigens of H1N1, H3N2, and two B lineages).
