Overview

SARS-CoV-2 specific T cells (KK Women's and Children's Hospital) is an adoptive cell therapy consisting of virus-specific T cells derived from convalescent or vaccinated donors. Developed by KK Women's and Children's Hospital in collaboration with Singapore General Hospital and the National University of Singapore, the therapy is designed to treat severe or high-risk COVID-19 in immunocompromised patients, including those with hematological malignancies or transplant recipients. The product consists of T cells enriched for interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) secretion that specifically target the spike (S), nucleocapsid (N), and membrane (M) proteins of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. These third-party donor cells are HLA-matched to the recipient and administered via intravenous infusion to augment the patient's cellular immunity against the virus.
