Overview

Orpathys + Tagrisso is a combination therapy consisting of savolitinib (Orpathys), an oral, potent, and highly selective MET tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), and osimertinib (Tagrisso), a third-generation, irreversible EGFR TKI. Co-developed by HUTCHMED and AstraZeneca, this all-oral regimen is designed to address MET-mediated resistance in patients with EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It is specifically indicated for the treatment of patients with locally advanced or metastatic EGFR mutation-positive (EGFRm) non-squamous NSCLC with MET amplification or overexpression whose disease has progressed on prior EGFR TKI therapy. The combination has received regulatory approval in China based on the Phase III SACHI trial, which demonstrated a significant reduction in the risk of disease progression or death compared to platinum-based chemotherapy. It is also undergoing global evaluation in the Phase III SAFFRON trial to support further regulatory submissions.
