Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SCTA01 + SCTA01C is a combination of two monoclonal antibodies under investigation for the treatment and prophylaxis of COVID-19. SCTA01 (code name HB27) is a human IgG1 monoclonal antibody with an Fc LALA mutation to reduce antibody-dependent enhancement and cytotoxicity, targeting the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 and demonstrating potent neutralizing activity in vitro and in animal models. SCTA01C is presumed to be a companion monoclonal antibody, likely targeting a different site on the viral spike protein, intended to provide synergistic or complementary neutralization in the cocktail. The combination aims to enhance efficacy against viral escape and antibody resistance. The developer is SinoCellTech, a biotechnology company in China. SCTA01 alone has demonstrated good safety and tolerability in healthy adults in a phase I clinical trial with linear pharmacokinetics, and SCTA01 + SCTA01C is being developed for similar COVID-19 indications.
