Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SCTV01C and SCTV01E are recombinant protein-based COVID-19 vaccines developed by Sinocelltech. SCTV01C is a bivalent vaccine containing spike protein ectodomain (S-ECD) antigens from the SARS-CoV-2 Alpha and Beta variants. SCTV01E is a tetravalent vaccine containing recombinant S trimer protein antigens from four variants: Alpha (B.1.1.7), Beta (B.1.351), Delta (B.1.617.2), and Omicron (BA.1). Both vaccines are formulated with an oil-in-water emulsion adjuvant and are intended for use as booster doses to induce broad neutralizing antibody responses. SCTV01C received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) in China in December 2022, followed by SCTV01E in March 2023.
