Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SCV-07 + ribavirin is a combination investigational regimen consisting of **SCV-07**, a synthetic dipeptide (γ-D-glutamyl-L-tryptophan) with immunomodulatory properties, and **ribavirin**, a well-established antiviral nucleoside analogue. SCV-07 is designed to stimulate the T-helper 1 (Th1) immune response and inhibit signal transducers and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3). The combination has been evaluated primarily in **chronic hepatitis C** (HCV) patients who had relapsed after standard therapies. The combination aimed to enhance immune-mediated viral clearance, with SCV-07 potentially improving efficacy when added to ribavirin. Clinical studies indicate the regimen was safe and biologically active, but it did not meet prespecified primary efficacy endpoints for HCV viral load reduction[1][2][3][5][7].
