Overview

**Selinexor + tumor treating fields** is an investigational combination regimen consisting of selinexor, a selective inhibitor of nuclear export (SINE) that blocks the protein exportin-1 (XPO1), and tumor treating fields (TTFields), an FDA-approved medical device therapy delivering low-intensity, intermediate-frequency alternating electric fields to disrupt cancer cell division. This combination is being explored primarily for the treatment of glioblastoma (both newly diagnosed and recurrent forms). The hypothesis is that selinexor may enhance the anti-tumor effects of TTFields by inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest, improving outcomes in aggressive brain tumors. Clinical trials are ongoing to evaluate safety and efficacy in this setting[1][8].
