Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SER-101 (RO1160367) is an orally administered small-molecule selective antagonist of the serotonin 4 (5-HT4) receptor that was originally discovered and developed by Roche and subsequently in-licensed by Serodus for cardiovascular indications, particularly congestive heart failure. By blocking 5-HT4 receptor–mediated signaling, SER-101 is intended to modulate maladaptive serotonergic effects on cardiac structure and function that contribute to heart failure progression, and it has been evaluated in early-phase clinical development as a novel, mechanism-based therapy for heart failure and related cardiovascular disease.[3][5][7][8][11][13]
