Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Serdexmethylphenidate + dexmethylphenidate** is a once-daily oral fixed-dose central nervous system stimulant product marketed as **Azstarys** for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. It combines immediate-release dexmethylphenidate with serdexmethylphenidate, an inactive prodrug that is converted to dexmethylphenidate and extends exposure to the active stimulant. Dexmethylphenidate inhibits dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake, increasing extracellular catecholamine signaling implicated in attention and impulse control. Azstarys was originally developed by KemPharm, subsequently commercialized by Corium, and acquired by Collegium in 2026; AK0901 is the corresponding Ark Biosciences development code in China. The FDA-approved U.S. product is indicated for ADHD in patients aged 6 years and older. ([accessdata.fda.gov](https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2025/212994s012lbl.pdf))
