Serenta (sirolimus)

eRapa is a proprietary, nanotechnology-based oral tablet formulation of sirolimus (rapamycin), a potent inhibitor of the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR). Developed by Biodexa Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with Emtora Biosciences, eRapa is designed to optimize the delivery of sirolimus, potentially improving bioavailability and reducing the toxicity associated with conventional formulations. The drug is currently in Phase 3 development (the Serenta trial, NCT06950385) for the treatment of Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP), a rare genetic condition that leads to the formation of numerous precancerous polyps in the colon and rectum. By inhibiting mTOR, which is frequently overexpressed in FAP-related polyps, eRapa aims to reduce polyp burden and prevent or delay the progression to colorectal cancer.
