Overview
serplulimab + etoposide + cisplatin is a combination chemo-immunotherapy regimen being evaluated as a neoadjuvant treatment for limited-stage small cell carcinoma of the esophagus (SCCE). The regimen includes serplulimab (HLX10), a fully humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor, which acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to enhance T-cell anti-tumor activity. This is combined with the cytotoxic agents etoposide, a topoisomerase II inhibitor, and cisplatin (or carboplatin), a platinum-based DNA alkylating agent. The combination is currently under investigation in a Phase II trial led by Fujian Cancer Hospital to assess its efficacy, specifically the pathological complete response (pCR) rate, and safety in patients with this rare esophageal malignancy.
