Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Serplulimab + HLX04 is a combination therapy developed by Shanghai Henlius Biotech. It consists of serplulimab (HLX10), a fully humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed death-1 (PD-1) receptor, and HLX04 (HANBEITAI), a biosimilar of bevacizumab that targets vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). This combination leverages the synergistic effects of immune checkpoint inhibition and anti-angiogenesis to enhance anti-tumor activity. By blocking PD-1, serplulimab restores T-cell mediated immune responses against tumor cells, while HLX04 inhibits VEGF-mediated tumor vasculature growth and normalizes the tumor microenvironment, potentially improving the infiltration of immune cells. The combination is being investigated for various solid tumors, including advanced hepatocellular carcinoma, metastatic colorectal cancer, and non-squamous non-small-cell lung cancer.
