This drug is a combination of three agents used together primarily during general anesthesia for surgical procedures.\n\n- **Sevoflurane** is a volatile inhalational anesthetic agent used for induction and maintenance of general anesthesia. It acts by modulating ligand-gated ion channels in the central nervous system, enhancing inhibitory neurotransmission via GABA(A) and glycine receptors (agonist action), and inhibiting excitatory neurotransmission via nicotinic acetylcholine, serotonin, and glutamate receptors (antagonist action). It also affects various ion currents including calcium and potassium channels, contributing to muscle relaxation and CNS depression. Sevoflurane has rapid onset and offset due to low blood solubility, making it suitable especially in pediatric anesthesia.\n\n- **Remifentanil** is an ultra-short-acting opioid analgesic that acts as a potent agonist at the mu-opioid receptor producing analgesia during surgery.\n\n- **Vecuronium** is a nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent that competes with acetylcholine at nicotinic cholinergic receptors at the motor end-plate causing skeletal muscle relaxation facilitating intubation and mechanical ventilation during surgery. Its effect can be potentiated by volatile anesthetics like sevoflurane.
