Overview

**SFELNVs@CX5461** is an experimental oral nanovesicle formulation in which exosome-like nanovesicles isolated from *Sophora flavescens* are loaded with the small molecule CX-5461, also known as pidnarulex. It was reported in a murine dextran sodium sulfate-induced colitis model, where the plant-derived vesicles were preferentially taken up by macrophages and the formulation reduced inflammatory cytokine expression and increased M2 macrophage infiltration. CX-5461 is a small-molecule inhibitor of RNA polymerase I-mediated ribosomal RNA transcription and a DNA G-quadruplex stabilizer; these activities can induce replication stress and DNA-damage signaling.
