Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**SFX-01 + tamoxifen** is an investigational combination therapy comprising SFX-01 (a synthetic stabilized formulation of sulforaphane in alpha-cyclodextrin) and tamoxifen (a selective estrogen receptor modulator). The combination is under study primarily for treatment-resistant, estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) metastatic breast cancer. SFX-01 targets and inhibits STAT3 signaling, a pathway implicated in cancer stem cell (CSC) survival and endocrine therapy resistance, while tamoxifen acts as an antagonist of the estrogen receptor. Preclinical and early clinical studies indicate that the addition of SFX-01 to tamoxifen reduces the CSC population, decreases tumor-initiating cell frequency, inhibits tumor growth, and may reverse or prevent resistance to tamoxifen by suppressing STAT3 phosphorylation. SFX-01 is developed and supplied by Evgen Pharma.
