Overview

SGN-15 + gemcitabine is an experimental combination therapy investigated for the treatment of cancers, specifically in a terminated Phase II trial for ovarian cancer. SGN-15 is an **antibody-drug conjugate** composed of the monoclonal antibody cBR96, which targets the Lewis Y (Le^y^) antigen, conjugated to the cytotoxic agent doxorubicin. Gemcitabine is a nucleoside analog that inhibits DNA synthesis. The combination aimed to enhance anti-tumor activity by leveraging the targeted delivery of doxorubicin to Le^y^-expressing carcinoma cells (via SGN-15) and the broad cytotoxic effect of gemcitabine, a DNA synthesis inhibitor.
