Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shen'an decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine. It is primarily investigated for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy (DN) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The decoction is intended to improve renal function and reduce proteinuria, potentially by modulating inflammatory and fibrotic pathways associated with chronic kidney damage in diabetic patients. It has been evaluated in randomized controlled clinical trials in China, where its efficacy and safety are compared against standard-of-care treatments such as the angiotensin II receptor blocker valsartan.
