Overview

Shen'ge Powder (also known as Shen Ge San or Renshen Gejie San) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula composed of Ginseng (Ren Shen) and Gecko (Ge Jie). It is traditionally used to tonify the lungs and kidneys, particularly for treating chronic cough and asthma associated with kidney deficiency. Modern clinical research, as evidenced by several trials in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR), is exploring its efficacy in treating chronic heart failure, dilated cardiomyopathy, and stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The formula is specifically indicated for patients with the Heart-Kidney Yang Deficiency syndrome, where it is believed to improve myocardial function and overall exercise tolerance.
