Overview

Shingrix + Boostrix refers to the concurrent administration of two vaccines developed by GSK: Shingrix (Herpes Zoster Vaccine, Recombinant, Adjuvanted) and Boostrix (Tetanus Toxoid, Reduced Diphtheria Toxoid, and Acellular Pertussis Vaccine, Adsorbed). Shingrix is a non-live, recombinant subunit vaccine containing the varicella-zoster virus glycoprotein E antigen and the AS01B adjuvant system, designed to prevent herpes zoster (shingles) in adults. Boostrix is a Tdap vaccine used for active booster immunization against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. Clinical trials, such as NCT02114359, have evaluated the safety and immunogenicity of co-administering these vaccines to provide comprehensive protection against these four diseases in a single visit for adults aged 50 and older.
