Shingrix + quadrivalent influenza vaccine

Shingrix + quadrivalent influenza vaccine refers to the concomitant administration of the recombinant adjuvanted zoster vaccine Shingrix with an inactivated quadrivalent influenza vaccine (commonly Fluarix Quadrivalent), given as two separate intramuscular injections during the same visit to prevent herpes zoster and seasonal influenza in adults. Shingrix contains varicella zoster virus glycoprotein E antigen combined with the AS01B adjuvant system, which enhances cell-mediated and humoral immunity against varicella zoster virus, while quadrivalent influenza vaccines contain split or recombinant hemagglutinin antigens from two influenza A subtypes and two influenza B lineages to induce strain-specific neutralizing antibodies.[5][7][11] Coadministration studies have shown that immune responses and overall safety profiles are generally preserved when these vaccines are given together, supporting their concurrent use to improve adult vaccination coverage.[5][7][11]
