Overview

SHR-A1811 + apatinib is a combination therapy under clinical investigation for the treatment of advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma and colorectal cancer. SHR-A1811 is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) targeting HER2, developed by Hengrui Medicine, while apatinib is an orally administered small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2), thereby blocking angiogenesis and tumor proliferation. Apatinib has been approved in China for advanced gastric cancer after failure of prior therapies and has shown activity in other solid tumors. The combination aims to leverage the targeted cytotoxicity of the ADC with antiangiogenic effects to improve outcomes in advanced cancers[1][2][3][6][7][8].
