Overview

SHR-A1811 + BP102 is a combination therapy consisting of two distinct drugs. SHR-A1811 (also known as trastuzumab rezetecan) is a novel HER2-targeted antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) composed of trastuzumab antibody, a cleavable linker, and a topoisomerase I inhibitor payload. BP102 is a bevacizumab biosimilar developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. SHR-A1811 works by targeting HER2-expressing or HER2-mutated cancer cells. The antibody component (trastuzumab) binds to HER2 receptors on cancer cells, delivering the topoisomerase I inhibitor payload directly to these cells. This targeted approach helps minimize damage to healthy cells while effectively attacking cancer cells. BP102, as a bevacizumab biosimilar, functions as a VEGF-A inhibitor and angiogenesis inhibitor. It works by blocking the formation of new blood vessels that supply tumors with nutrients and oxygen, thereby inhibiting tumor growth. The combination of SHR-A1811 + BP102 is being investigated in clinical trials for advanced solid tumors. A trial is planned to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of SHR-A1811 combined with other antitumor therapies, including BP102, in patients with advanced solid tumors. SHR-A1811 has demonstrated promising antitumor activity and acceptable tolerability as monotherapy in various cancer types, including HER2-positive breast cancer, HER2 low-expressing breast cancer, and HER2-mutant non-small cell lung cancer. The combination aims to enhance antitumor efficacy by simultaneously targeting both HER2 and VEGF-A pathways.
