Silver nanoparticles + Cornus mas refers to a combination of silver nanoparticles synthesized or complexed using extracts from the fruit of Cornus mas (cornelian cherry). This "green" synthesis leverages the polyphenol-rich content of Cornus mas as both a reducing and capping agent for nanoparticle formation. The resulting biogenic nanosilver exhibits notable anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antitumor properties. Mechanistically, these complexes have been shown to suppress inflammation by inhibiting NF-κB activation in macrophages—reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-12—and induce apoptosis in tumor cells via upregulation of p53 and caspase activation. In preclinical studies, topical application has demonstrated efficacy in reducing inflammation in psoriasis plaques without significant toxicity to normal cells[1][2][8]. The product is primarily investigated as an experimental nanomedicine or biomedical material rather than a conventional pharmaceutical drug.
