Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nanowin Gel is a topical antimicrobial combination product developed by Microwin Labs, primarily used for the management of wounds, burns, and various dermatological infections. The formulation contains silver nitrate and chlorhexidine gluconate, two potent antiseptic agents that provide broad-spectrum bactericidal and fungicidal activity. Silver nitrate releases silver ions that penetrate microbial cell walls, binding to DNA and proteins to inhibit respiration and replication. Chlorhexidine gluconate, a biguanide antiseptic, acts by disrupting the microbial cell membrane, leading to the leakage of intracellular contents and cell death. Together, these components provide a synergistic effect against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as fungi, promoting a sterile environment for wound healing.
