SIM0226 is a highly selective, orally bioavailable small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) that targets the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2). Developed by Simcere Pharmaceutical and its subsidiary Shandong Simcere Medgenn, SIM0226 is designed to inhibit tumor-associated angiogenesis, a critical process for the growth, survival, and metastasis of solid tumors. By blocking the binding of VEGF to VEGFR2, the drug inhibits downstream signaling pathways that promote vascular endothelial cell proliferation and migration. SIM0226 has been investigated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, where it aims to restrict the blood supply to the tumor microenvironment.
